I had encountered countless of selfish Singaporeans, their act are totally unacceptable.
Firstly, in a bus, there are so much space at the back and they could hardly care about the boarding passengers. They refuse to move to the back until the driver shouts. Can't they be just more proactive? Everyone encountered themselves being in the same situation where you can't the board because of others unwilling to move to the rear. Even though you had being through it, but why can't you just move in so others trying to board could go home early and rest after a long day of work/study. Not trying to defame Singaporeans, even if I myself is a Singaporean, but this is basic courtesy and the common sense. Why let others suffer the pain of waiting another bus which might be 30-40 minutes? You all should know SMRT and SBS have the tendency of arriving late even they indicate the estimated time of arrival is e.g. 10-15 minutes. Not also trying to blame them, I understand there are lots of passengers trying to board along the way before they reach our bus stop. So I won't ask much, but if everyone could just cooperate and move to rear proactively, it might just make someone's day. By doing good for someone, even if you had a rough day ahead, it will make you feel good inside. I myself always try to move in much as I can so more people could board and won't be late for work/school or could go home for a longer rest before heading for work/school the next day. :)
Nextly, also in a bus, I understand every parents will give up their seats for their children. But something is too much. Having your child sleep on the seat, I won't mind if just one seat but two seats? It's too much... No matter how tired is your child is, that's not the way. Hogging a two sitter seats, while everyone is squeezing like a tin of sardines, you had your child(3-5 y.o) sleep on the seat while you stand? Why don't just sit down and hold your child while he/she sleeps? If you choose not to hold him/her, you could just sit on one seat while your child could lie on your legs/thighs, so you give up a standing slot for another passenger to board or even a breathing space for others who are already squeezing. Not trying to be racist in any of your mindset, but there are so many kind of passengers on a bus. There are businessmen/women, construction workers(on/off-duty), parents, students(buff, round, chubby, full of barang-barang[things], athletes[sweaty, sport-bag, shoe-bag] etc.), Chinese. Malay, Indian etc etc... So please be considerate the other passengers, if any seat is available, just offer it. Not only for the elders, pregnant or disabled, everyone is entitled for these seats.
Lastly, I just feel unfair for the NSmen, be it the SAF, SPF, SCDF etc, they worked/trained so hard to protect this country, our country that we live in. After a long day of work, why can't they deserve a seat in any public transports? If you think they don't deserved for these seats, then you should reflect on yourself why even you deserved the seat... You only earn for yourself or families, even if you paid tax which is their pay. But without them, you won't able to even go to work safely and not having any kind of fear of being rob or even killed. Yes you might being through this stages of being as a NSmen, then you should even know more about the tiredness after training and monitoring the surrounding for any threat to our country. NSmen are still humans! They also have a family, they also have their loved ones and they will feel tired too. To have a short rest on public transports, they will have the energy to protect the country without making mistakes. To you NSmen, you have my respect.
